Craig K. Wimberly, President and Practice Principal – Management Consulting
Craig Wimberly is an innovative, decisive and forward-thinking executive with over 30 years of experience leading successful information technology, finance and cross-functional organizations. Throughout his career, Mr. Wimberly has demonstrated a strong understanding of business processes and information technologies. He combines strong leadership, general management, finance, strategic planning, technical, execution and problem solving expertise with the ability to align and focus the delivery of information technology to support and realize business strategies and goals. He has proven effective in developing and maintaining customer relationships, building and motivating large and diverse teams, and streamlining and strengthening existing operations. Mr. Wimberly has a superior track record in defining effective strategies and achieving results, with excellent communication skills, both verbal and written and possesses high ethical standards, superior leadership, team building, relationship management and organizational development skills.
Mr. Wimberly has worked in several capacities from Senior Project Manager to Chief Information Officer and Chief Finance Officer to President. He spent 20 years at Amoco Corporation leading large organizations, delivering complex technology solutions across diverse areas of the business and having responsibility for budgets as large as $400 million. In roles as CFO and VP of I.T. at VinDiVino and Chief of Staff and CIO for the Office of the Clerk of the Circuit Court, Mr. Wimberly worked to streamline business processes, execute and deliver high cost/risk technology initiatives, reduce TCO, manage growth in costs, and increase efficiencies across the organization. Mr. Wimberly has also spent several years as a senior level consultant assisting both start-ups and established businesses develop and execute strategic business plans and optimize their operations, with an emphasis on improving supply chain processes.
Mr. Wimberly’s professional accomplishments in the areas of strategic planning, business process improvement and information technology have been written up in several industry publications such as HP Magazine, FCW, Government Computer News and STATETECH.
A graduate of Truman College and Roosevelt University, with an MBA from the University of Chicago, Mr. Wimberly is a member of several organizations. He is a member and immediate past president of the Frogs Club, one of Chicago’s historic African American Men’s Clubs, is Chair of Public Policy for the Coalition of African American Leaders (COAL), is a member of the Board of Directors of the Illinois African American Coalition for Prevention (ILAACP), and is President of the Board of Directors for EachOneTeachOne. He has also served on Boards for Marcy-Newberry Association and Prevent Child Abuse – Illinois.
